Let, now son is x years old
So, father is 2x years old
18 years ago son was ( x - 18) years old
and, 18 years ago father was ( 2x - 18) years old
On condition,
2x - 18 = 3 ( x - 18)
2x - 18 = 3x - 54
- x = - 36
x = 36
So, son is 36 years old
and Father is 36×2 or 72 years old
Sum of sons and fathers age
= (36 + 72) years
= 108 years
